Usability - User-friendly trading platform found in this FP Markets review

Everything about the FP Markets brand is designed to be simple for customer access. From the speedy signing up process to the use of familiar trading platforms like MT4 and MT5, it offers you an effortless way to execute your trades.

The brand’s website acts as a gateway to your trading and you’ll find that it’s a well-designed site with a professional feel. With simple links for signing up, contacting customer support and accessing important legal documentation, you’ll understand that FP Markets puts the user experience first.

This FP Markets review found that the brand lets you choose between two different account options. These include the Standard Account type that is commission-free and the Raw Account that is commission-based.

The Standard account lets you access spreads from 1 pip and you can open up an account with a deposit of just £100. The same minimum deposit will also let you open up a Raw Account, where you’ll face £2.25 commission per side, but spreads start from 0 pips.

Both account types feature quick order processing, a minimum trade size of 0.01 lots and access to tier-one liquidity. Just note that there is also a swap-free Islamic account and a demo account available.

Trading platform – Three options found in this FP Markets review

Sign up to FP Markets and you’ll get a choice of three high grade trading platforms; IRESS, MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5. You can use each of these brand’s products either via your web browser, or they can be downloaded to your desktop.

The IRESS platform offers a range of functions including the options for having multiple portfolios, live news streams, real-time price quotes, a fully customisable interface and over 50 trading indicators and charting tools.

The MT4 and MT5 trading platforms, which featured heavily in our AvaTrade review, are a hugely popular kind of trading software. MetaTrader 4 is good for all levels of experience with a range of features including custom-alerts, one-click trading, 24 analytical objects and over 60 technical indicators.

Those wishing to take their trading to the next level might wish to check out MetaTrader 5, which has advanced features such as strategy testers and the ability to view up to 100 charts at a time.

Trading payments - Start trading from just $100

You can open both account types at FP Markets with a minimum deposit of just £100 which is the same as we found during our TMGM review. The brand features a range of payment methods, with availability determined by where you are trading from.

This FP Markets review for India found that if you want to deposit in INR, you’ll be limited to using the Skrill ewallet. You won’t be hit by any fees, and deposits will show up instantly for MetaTrader platforms, while they may take up to one working day for IRESS.

If you wish to deposit in another currency, other payment options include the likes of Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, Neteller, bank transfer and a dozen different cryptocurrencies. You will be able to make same-day withdrawals at FP Markets, and once again, there are no fees here.

Fees – Competitive trading fees at FP Markets

This FP Markets review has already pointed out that you won’t face any fees for making a deposit, and that any withdrawal fees will be minimal and come from the payment providers themselves.

Beyond this, you’ll find that there are competitive brokerage fees that are contained within the tight spreads. This applies to both Standard and Raw Account types, although it’s worth noting that there is a minimal fee charged for Raw Account users who trade in forex and metals. What’s interesting though, is that there is no account inactivity fee.

Customer service - Quality support found in this FP Markets review

You’ll find it quick and easy to contact the FP Markets customer support team. The website features live chat support, email support and there are also toll-free telephone numbers. Just note that the 24-hour support is only available on weekdays, with only limited support over the weekend. As we found in our WBroker review, FP Markets also has a wealth of FAQ pages and extra documentation to help you make a good start on its trading site.

Regulation - Fully regulated trading platform

FP Markets is regulated by some heavyweight industry watchdogs such as ASIC, CySEC and ESMA. Such oversight means that FP Markets is obliged to ensure that there is adequate segregation of client funds as well as negative balance protection.

Our FP Markets review also found that there are regular external financial audits and you’ll be able to access your personal account statements at all times. An essential for being able to comply with the tax regulations in India.

ASIC - Australian Securities and Investments Commission
CySEC - Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission
FSCA - South African Financial Sector Conduct Authority
